Marina and Brian’s first wedding anniversary is coming up this week, and I can’t think of a more lovely way to say congratulations to them!

I’ve made paintings from photos in the past, but nothing like this! Beth Thomas contacted us several months ago asking for permission to use some of Marina and Brian’s wedding photos as the basis for a painting she was making about their wedding. We gave her permission as it was a really great concept and we couldn’t wait to see the final product.

She made a beautiful keepsake for Marina and Brian, focusing on Marina’s custom-made dress and the handmade decor items from their wedding day. She has a great blog post detailing her inspiration.

Pronovias Flagship Store Event

While we were in Mumbai, India photographing Sabah and Arun’s wedding last month, we were asked to take part in the Pronovias Runway Event at their flagship store in Manhattan. We were honored that the staff of Pronovias asked Turn Loose The Art to photograph the event for them! There was exciting runway show featuring the Pronovias Advance Collection and the Manuel Mota 2012 Collection that was simply stunning!

Montauk Manor Wedding Shoot

I’ll start this off by saying that if you’re looking for a great wedding location and even better wedding food, Montauk Manor is the place! We’ve eaten at Tre Bella Restaurant twice now and both times have been superb! Katelynn mentioned to us that they were looking for images for this newer wedding venue on Eastern Long Island, and we were happy to help. Montauk has a vastly different feel than the nearby Hamptons and is probably the best place out there for an outdoor wedding since it has a sunset view over the water.

Kathleen and Chris were so wonderful and happy to model for us!

Perfect Bound Real Wedding Blog Feature

I was so happy to see the new Perfect Bound blog website this morning as I was taking this screen capture! Anne-Marie writes a great wedding blog focusing on fashion, and I knew she would love to see Alex and Darren’s gorgeous Saratoga Springs wedding. She has a way with words and I’m glad she chose a few of our favorite images for display.

I know Kathleen found us on Style Me Pretty about a year and a half ago, and I know she’s spent plenty of time looking for inspiration over there, so I think it’s wonderful that they decided to feature her wedding on their Little Black Book blog!

Shehnaai Studios’ Bridal Soiree

Shirin at Shehnaai Couture and Events debuted her new Bridal Soiree Day last week! Together with makeup artist Linda Nicholas and I, the groups of girls came in to try on lehngas and saris, brighten up their face with some color, and experience the first photo shoot of their engagement. We had a blast and it was a very informative experience as well.

Here are a few of my favorite images from the day:

I do believe this is the mark of a truly wonderful sister: letting your big sis use your head as a balancing post as you put her shoes on!

We can’t forget the birthday girl! She’s not the bride, but this group of friends got together first for the bridal soiree and then for a celebratory birthday dinner.

One of the best parts of the day was seeing all the girls’ reactions as their friends came out in a beautiful gown.

There’s nothing like a beautiful lehnga to make a bride feel great!

We’re back, we’re live, and we’re on Style Me Pretty again!

Well, this has been a whirlwind of a week! In addition to moving, and all the icky packing and losing things, and finding kitchen utensils in bedroom dresser drawers, our blog was hacked. So instead of being able to fully focus on our move, Joe was stuck installing and removing and reloading our blog multiple times. The good news is that it looks like we’re back for good now, and that we only lost one blog post. The bad news is that we probably have a few extra grays now.

So if you’ve already seen this for the 12 hours or so it was, we apologize for the duplicate. Of course, we’d love for you to enjoy these images all over again!

Style Me Pretty always has a beautiful collection of images, but we’re a bit biased about the wonderful images they shared this past Monday on their blog of Jordyn and Dan’s awesome Hudson Valley wedding in Garrison, NY. It was our first wedding of the season and we’re thrilled everyone loves the images as much as we do.

Even better, since it’s been a few days since this feature we’ve seen such an amazing outpouring of compliments for Jordyn’s styling. The comments are so fun to read!

While browsing blogs this morning, I found out about a new font. There are cutouts in the type that reduce ink usage by about 20%. Not only will this cut down on ink cartridge waste, it will save money! If you’re in a larger office environment, talk to your office management team about transferring usage to this font.

The font works best in smaller sizes and prints best on laser printers. For more information, please visit the creators’ site.
