Elopement in Central Park

Jared and Kristin planned a lovely intimate wedding in Central Park. They flew in from Australia just for the occasion (well, and maybe a little Laser Tag Tournament nearby, too). We met up with them and a handful of friends and family that came along for their ceremony, officiated by Bettina. Kristin and Jared were happy trusting us to take them around some of the great sites of Central Park for their portraits after the ceremony, and we were happy to incorporate a few things they found fun about NYC: taxis, fire hydrants, and squirrels.

We’ve had quite a slew of elopements lately and our second Australian couple flying in to get married in Central Park this year! Jared and Kristin are seriously fun people who topped off a laser force tournament win last week by getting married last Monday in front of a few near and dear friends and family at Bethesda Terrace in the park. After their intimate ceremony, we wandered around Central Park a bit and photographed a few things they’ve loved about their visit, including squirrels and fire hydrants.

They were really up for anything – we love couples that are willing to trust us to get a crazy shot with cabs and fire hydrants!

Green, Blue and DIY California Wedding

Marina and Brian planned a wonderful wedding in Diamond Bar, California. They have a fantastic garden at their Brooklyn brownstone and took a lot of the wedding details from that idea, even using one of the engagement photos we shot there as a showpiece for the wedding. With each table named for an herb they grow, invitations and stationary custom designed by Marina herself, and wheat grass as a base for many of the decor items, it was a great theme to photograph! On top of that, Marina and Brian each had their attire designed specially for the wedding.

Springtime Central Park Elopement

Candice and Dan contacted us from Australia about photographing their intimate wedding in Central Park and ended up with one of the prettiest spring afternoons we saw all month. What’s not to like about flowering trees and a soft breeze blowing Candice’s veil in the wind?

We witnessed their lovely ceremony at Gapstow Bridge and then took a meandering walk through Central Park and then onto the Library building near Bryant Park and their hotel for the remainder of their portraits. Dan and Candice thought NYC would be the perfect place to marry, and with a day like that I couldn’t agree more.

With the help of Sarah Ritchie, Candice and Dan planned an intimate ceremony at the bridge, complete with saxophone serenade, champagne, and bubbles.

Indian Wedding at Taj Palace, Tote, and Sagarmatha Part 2

Indian Wedding at Taj Palace, Tote, and Sagar Matha Part 1

Two years ago, Sabah’s sister said that one day we’d have to fly to India to photograph Sabah’s wedding. A little over a year ago, we photographed the launch of Sabah’s new Saa.n.she couture line. There, Sabah said that we needed to come to India to photograph her wedding, but she wasn’t dating anybody yet. Four months ago, Sabah called us gushing about Arun and her wedding! After a harried couple of months of getting visas and vaccinations, we were on our way to Mumbai for Sabah and Arun’s multi-day wedding.

We arrived amidst a humid mass of people and the Arenja family welcomed us straight into their home for some fabulous meals and dance practice. We did a quick engagement shoot for Sabah and Arun since he hadn’t yet met us, and then went straight into photographing three days of events.

Then onto the day of the sangeet at the Taj Palace Hotel and Tower:

After the Sangeet and dancing into the wee hours of the morning, we had to get Sabah ready for her Mehendi at Tote on the Turf!

Le Club/The Avenue Wedding in Long Branch New Jersey

Francine and Jon had a wild and craaaaaaazy wedding! There was so much going on, so many dance moves, so much everything. They had some very unique touches to the wedding from the cake tower designed by the “Cake Boss” to Jon’s custom-made brown tuxedo. Coordinator Adrienne Colosimo did an amazing job putting it all together and helping us organize the photos.

We are thrilled to be sharing their images and know there are a lot of people biting nails to see them, so we hope you enjoy them. I’m starting with Fran’s shoes, because her students actually paper-mâchéd them to give her a one-of-a-kind pair of wedding shoes!

Francine gave each of the bridesmaids a brooch or other piece of jewelry with a butterfly on it. For her maid of honor, a butterfly and skull!

Their ceremony was on the boardwalk overlooking the beach of Long Branch and Paradise Pier, and in addition to all their guests a ton of passersby stopped to watch their ceremony.

And I love this moment when I caught Fran and brother Brad doing some synchronized dancing!

Minnesota Wedding: Jill and Tyler
