Things have been a little hectic around here! We’ve had family parties, lots of viewing sessions, and a consulting appointment with other photographers. After this post and in a couple days we’ll be back to our regular blogging!
A couple nights ago I was in for a treat. I photographed an event at the brand spanking new Boom Boom Room at the Standard in the Meatpacking District. Now, I’ve been a fan of the Standard in downtown LA for quite some time and love their rooftop deck area, so I was more than a little interested in what NYC’s version would look like. It’s mostly indoors and utterly fantastic views are available in all directions. I can’t show photos from the event, but this is the space.
The view of the Hudson from one of the smoker’s balconies
the funky bar
and this… this is the view from one of the single-stall bathrooms (not shown: a little curtain on the lower half of the window to block visibility!)
I wonder how long it would have taken me to get up there without this event? hmmm…
